Helping Hands Network is working in partnership with Mount Archer State School to provide Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services to the school community.

LOCATION

The Helping Hands Network OSHC facility is located in the school hall. All children attending the service must be dropped off in the morning or collected in the afternoon by an authorised person and signed in and out of the OSHC facility each day.

PROGRAMS

Helping Hands Network tailors their programs to meet the local school community needs, providing much more than child minding. Their programs are designed to develop stronger, healthier, happier children and to provide an environment that is like a “home away from home”.Programs are developed in consultation with children, parents, the school community and Helping Hands Educators. They are tailored to cater to the children’s age, skill, interests and abilities through a variety of challenging and recreational activities.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Care is available 5 days per week during term time.

Before school, the service operates from 6.30am – 8.30am.

After school, the service operates 2.45pm to 6.00pm.

Children can walk straight to and from their classrooms. Educators pick up and drop off the Prep students and escort them to the OSHC room.

VACATION CARE & STUDENT FREE DAYS

A full day program is available 5 days per week during school holidays, and on Student Free Days from 6.30am to 6.00pm.

FOOD

Helping Hands Network provides a healthy breakfast at Before School Care and a healthy afternoon tea at After School Care. Breakfast, morning tea, and afternoon tea are all provided at Vacation Care.   In addition to these meals the children also have the opportunity to participate in cooking activities and the occasional special treat.

FEES

Before School Care:  $18 per session

After School Care:  $24 per session

Vacation Care:   $52 per session

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) commenced in July 2018 and it:

  • Replaces the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) with a single, means tested subsidy.
  • Is paid directly to service providers to be passed on to families.
  • Is simpler than the previous multi-payment systems
  • Is better targeted and provides more assistance to low and middle income families.

Calculating your CCS
Three things will determine how much subsidy the Government will contribute to your child care fees, these are:
  • Combined family annual adjusted taxable income(the percentage of subsidy a family will be entitled to will be based on their combined annual income)
  • Activity test(the number of hours of subsidised child care that families will have access to per fortnight will be based on the activity level of both parents in the workforce, or other recognised activity such as studying hours of paid work, self-employed work, approved training or study, and voluntary work)
  • Service type(the type of child care service a family uses for child care).
To establish what level of Child Care Subsidy you may be entitled to please contact the Centrelink Family and Parents line on 13 61 50 or to estimate what your new Child Care Subsidy might be, go to the Government’s Payment and Services Finder Our fee information is provided by service on this website. Currently, places are available in Before School Care, After School Care and for Vacation Care.
