Mount Archer State School is celebrating the success of the schools' choirs at the Rockhampton Eisteddfod again in 2013. The school entered four choirs in the competition to achieve the following results:
Boys Choir Yr4-7 - 1st Place (89 points)
Year 4/5 Choir - 1st Place (89.5 points)
Year 6/7 Choir - 2nd Place (88.5 points) missing first place by 0.5 of a point
Year 2/3 Choir 1st Place (90 points)
Mount Archer was awarded the Dot Hamilton Memorial trophy for the highest aggregate for primary schools over 450 students. The year 2/3 choir also won another two trophies; for the highest mark given by an adjudicator and the most outstanding primary school choir.
As well as achieving these wonderful results, the school music teacher Mrs Anne Mitchell, for the 2nd year in a row has been rewarded for her hard work and presented with the Barbara McGeever Trophy as the most outstanding conductor at this years’ eisteddfod.
