Attendance – Sleeping in is not a good excuse!

The importance of attending school every day is founded in educational research.  There is a direct connection between a student’s attendance and their end of year grades.  This is also true for turning up to school on time.  I am starting to see a concerning trend for some students who are always arriving late to school with the excuse “I slept in.” This is not a valid reason for being late to school.  Children should be set into a routine where they are able to arrive to school before the bell and be ready for learning as school commences.  If parents would like assistance with making this happen please contact the office.
